Group transport for Carnegie school groups, sports clubs, aged care and community outings, corporate teams, wedding guests and event parties, plus airport transfers, from an Oakleigh depot about 10 minutes away.
Why Choose Quinces in Carnegie?
Quinces has been running coaches in Melbourne's south-east since 1944. The depot at 76 Atkinson Street, Oakleigh is about 4 km by road from the Koornang Road shops in Carnegie VIC 3163, which is about 10 minutes or less outside peak. A coach can be at your pickup point without a long run in from across town.
The business is part of Australian Transit Group and holds ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety) certifications, audited independently each year. Every driver on our roster carries a current Working with Children Check and police clearance, and every vehicle appears on the Safe Transport Victoria Public Register. Quinces is a BusVic member and an accredited bus operator. None of that changes between a school excursion, a club away game and a wedding shuttle.
Quinces runs Melbourne bus charter and coach hire services across Melbourne's south-east, dispatched from the Oakleigh depot.
Carnegie, precinct by precinct
Carnegie VIC 3163 sits in the City of Glen Eira, in Melbourne's south-east. For a coach driver it breaks into a few distinct pickup areas, and each one asks for something different.
The centre of the suburb is the Koornang Road shopping strip, with Carnegie station nearby. Glen Eira's Carnegie Library and Community Centre is at 7 Shepparson Avenue, which the library describes as close to that strip and to train and bus services. Behind the shops, the council has been brightening the laneways that connect the car park to the main street, including the Leaf Lane footpath artwork and the lighting in the Chook Run laneway. Groups get a lit walkway between the car park and the shops.
The recreation precincts are the next area. Koornang Park and Lord Reserve sit side by side on Munro Avenue, and the Carnegie Memorial Swimming Pool is part of the Koornang Park precinct on Moira Avenue. The pool reopened in January 2025 after a major redevelopment. Further along, Packer Park on Leila Road is the suburb's other big reserve, with a sportsground, a bowls green, a velodrome and a pavilion with community rooms.
The fourth area is the rail corridor itself. When the line was lifted over the road, the space underneath became parkland and trader parking. The state government lists a children's playground at Woorayl Street Reserve, a multipurpose recreation space at Girdwood Avenue and 27 new trader car spaces on Egan Street, all delivered in 2021.

Charter services
Quinces runs the following charter services for Carnegie clients.
Carnegie landmarks and pickup points
These are Carnegie places that work well as a staging point. Half the work on the day is knowing the site before you get there, including where a coach can legally stand and how far the walk is from the door to the kerb.
- Carnegie station and the Koornang Road shopping strip
- Carnegie Library and Community Centre at 7 Shepparson Avenue
- Koornang Park on Munro Avenue, home of the Caulfield Bears Football Club and the Carnegie Cricket Club
- Lord Reserve on Munro Avenue, home of the Carnegie South Cricket Club and the Glen Eira Junior Soccer Club
- Carnegie Memorial Swimming Pool, in the Koornang Park precinct on Moira Avenue
- Packer Park on Leila Road, home of the Glen Eira Amateur Football Club, the Washington Park Cricket Club and the Carnegie Caulfield Cycling Club
- Woorayl Street Reserve and the Girdwood Avenue recreation space, in the former rail corridor open space
- The trader car park on Egan Street
If your pickup is not on that list, send the address with your quote request and the office confirms the staging point beforehand. That matters most for events with several pickup points, where one coach may need to collect from the shops, a reserve and a home in a single morning.
Getting a coach in and out of Carnegie
Carnegie is easier to drive in than it used to be. The Koornang Road and Grange Road level crossings are gone: the Big Build lists them among the four crossings removed along the 3.2 km elevated line between Caulfield and Hughesdale, which opened to passengers on 18 June 2018. It says the boom gates at those four crossings were previously down for up to 87 minutes in each two-hour morning peak. Anyone who once built a crossing delay into a Carnegie run can stop.
The station was rebuilt as an elevated station when the crossings were removed, and the office will name the best meeting point when it confirms the booking. The line is the Cranbourne and Pakenham corridor.
The reserves are on Munro Avenue, Moira Avenue and Leila Road. Quinces settles the staging point for each at booking stage, and for the Koornang Road shops it names a spot in advance, not on the morning.
Group sizes we fit
Tell us your group size and we will match the right bus. Quinces runs minibuses and coaches, so whether you have a small seniors' outing, a club squad or a whole year level, there is a vehicle in the fleet that fits without putting people on a second trip or paying for space you do not need.
Groups typically book the following:
- Small groups: minibuses for wedding parties, small outings and corporate teams
- Mid-size groups: coaches for sports squads, aged care outings and class groups
- Large groups: touring coaches for year-level excursions, large events and multi-bus movements
Why Carnegie clients choose us
Quinces Coaches is the accredited bus operator Carnegie groups return to because of a combination that is hard to match: a depot close enough to keep early starts practical, an office that plans the pickup point with you, and a compliance record that holds up when a school, council or aged care provider checks it.
From the Oakleigh depot it is about 3.7 km by road to Carnegie station and about 4 km to the Koornang Road shops, roughly 8 to 10 minutes outside peak. Packer Park is about 4 km away and the Koornang Park precinct about 4.5 km.
Trust credentials for Carnegie clients:
